Acceptance of Terms

By using DoubleCheck—including the browser extension, web dashboard, or any scanning tools—you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Service Description

DoubleCheck provides security awareness tools, including scam detection for messages on supported platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook Messenger, Telegram Web) and code analysis tools (Repo Scanner, Secret Leak Check) for scanning GitHub repositories and uploaded ZIP files. DoubleCheck is an awareness tool, not a guarantee of safety or a replacement for professional security audits.

Limitations

  • DoubleCheck may produce false positives (flagging safe messages or code as risky)
  • DoubleCheck may produce false negatives (missing actual scams, malicious code, or exposed secrets)
  • DoubleCheck may fail to identify sophisticated malicious code, obfuscated payloads, or exposed credentials
  • A "clean" scan or low risk score does not guarantee a file, repository, or message is 100% safe
  • DoubleCheck is not a replacement for your own judgment, caution, or a professional security review

Free and Pro Plans

DoubleCheck offers free usage limits, paid Pro subscriptions ($12.99/month), and one-time report purchases ($3.99). Payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment provider, whether you subscribe or unlock a report from the extension or the web app.

You may cancel a Pro subscription at any time through your account settings in the extension or web dashboard. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. One-time report purchases are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law.

User Responsibilities

By uploading files or submitting repository URLs for scanning, you represent that you have the legal right and authority to scan that code. You agree not to use DoubleCheck to scan classified, proprietary, or confidential code without authorization.

You are responsible for how you use scan results. Do not run untrusted code, deploy credentials, or take security actions based solely on a DoubleCheck report without independent verification.

Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use DoubleCheck for any illegal purpose
  • Upload or submit content you do not have the right to scan, as described above
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the extension or service
  • Use automated tools to abuse the service or circumvent usage limits
  • Resell or redistribute DoubleCheck

Intellectual Property

DoubleCheck and all related content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the extension or web service without permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

DoubleCheck is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will detect every threat.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of DoubleCheck, including but not limited to losses from scam messages, execution of malicious code, compromised infrastructure, or leaked credentials.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of DoubleCheck after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
